Diamondback Dentistry accepts Aetna PPO and Aetna Medicare Advantage dental plans at our North Phoenix office on Bell Road. Call before your visit, and we will take care of the insurance side for you.
We accept Aetna dental PPO plans, whether yours comes through work or you bought it on your own. We also accept Aetna Medicare Advantage plans that include dental benefits.
We handle the insurance side from your first call to the final claim, so you never have to argue with Aetna over a bill.
The visit itself is just as easy. Our dentists are unhurried and judgment-free, and you are welcome whether your last checkup was six months ago or six years ago. You will find us on Bell Road in North Phoenix, open Saturday mornings, and when you call before noon, we do our best to see a dental emergency the same day.
Call (602) 866-8183 with your Aetna member ID card and we will look up your plan. The one kind of Aetna plan we do not accept is a DMO.

We take care of the insurance paperwork, so your visit can be about your teeth. It all starts with one phone call.
Give us your Aetna details when you call or book. We confirm your coverage with Aetna and tell you what your plan covers for the care you need. It costs nothing.
Before treatment begins, you get a written estimate of your share, based on your Aetna benefits. Then you decide what to go ahead with.
After your visit, we send the claim to Aetna for you. You do not have to fill out a claim form.
Most Aetna dental PPO plans sort care into three groups: preventive, basic and major. The group decides how much of the cost your plan pays. Here is where common visits usually fall. Your benefits check gives you the exact numbers for your own plan.
Cleanings and ExamsPreventive care. Often paid at 100 percent, usually with no deductible.
Tooth-Colored FillingsBasic care. Often paid at around 80 percent after the deductible.
Dental CrownsMajor care. Often paid at around 50 percent after the deductible.
Dental ImplantsUsually major care when a plan covers them. Some Aetna plans leave implants out, so check yours before you plan treatment.
Emergency VisitsThe emergency exam is often covered like other diagnostic care. The treatment that follows counts as basic or major care.
Yearly Maximum and Waiting PeriodsA yearly maximum caps what your plan pays toward basic and major care in one plan year. Plans you buy on your own can also make you wait before basic and major care are covered.

We check your Aetna benefits before you arrive, so the visit can be about your teeth. Your dentist examines your teeth, explains what they find and answers your questions.
You do not need perfect teeth, and you do not need to explain why it has been a while. The visit is about where things stand today and what comes next, and you decide on any treatment together.
Request Your First VisitIf your spouse or children are on your Aetna plan, they can see us too. We care for kids and adults, and we keep the office calm for both. When you call, give us each person's name and date of birth along with your member ID, and we will check benefits for the whole family at once.
Most Aetna PPO plans have a family deductible as well as one for each person. Once the family's combined payments reach it, no one else on the plan pays toward a deductible for the rest of the plan year.
We accept Aetna Medicare Advantage plans that include dental benefits. Dental coverage on these plans varies a lot from one plan to the next. Some cover only cleanings, exams and X-rays. Others also help pay for care such as fillings, crowns or dentures, usually up to a yearly dollar limit.

Most dental plans run on the calendar year. The yearly maximum resets on January 1, and on most plans, benefits you did not use do not carry over. Some plans end at a different time of year, so your reset date may not be January 1.

A DMO usually pays only for care from the dentist it assigns you, apart from some emergencies, so it will not pay toward a visit here. You are welcome to come in and pay for the visit yourself.
We still file the claim with Aetna for you. You pay for the visit, and Aetna pays you back whatever your plan covers.

It depends on your plan. Some Aetna PPO plans cover implants as a major service, which they often pay at around 50 percent after the deductible, up to the yearly maximum. Others leave implants out. Aetna's Dental Direct Preferred PPO, for example, lists them as not covered. Usually, and it is often small. A common Aetna PPO deductible is $50 per person or $150 per family each year. It usually applies to basic and major care, not to exams and cleanings. Your benefits check tells you your plan's deductible and how much of it you have already met.
Some do. Aetna's Dental Direct Preferred PPO, for example, waits 6 months before it covers basic care and 12 months for major care. It waives the wait for major care if you had dental insurance before, and preventive care has no wait. We can tell you whether your plan has one before you book.
Exams and cleanings are preventive care, which many Aetna PPO plans pay in full, commonly twice a year. You will not be judged for the gap. Your first visit starts with where your teeth are now.
